Fraunhofer diffraction principle
| |
| When a laser passes through a certain-sized gap or small obstacle, it will deviate from its straight-line propagation, causing a diffraction phenomenon. This results in alternating light and dark stripes on the CCD image sensor. By analyzing the spatial distribution of these stripes, the size of the measured object can be calculated.
